Project

Con-Fluvial is an FWO senior research project at Ghent University, an art-science-activist inquiry into the hydro-ecologies of the SZenne and the River Lys. The work brings together artists, academics, and local stakeholders, and it needed a home that could hold events, offerings, and a growing body of stories. I designed and built the website as a digital water body you move through: a real-time canvas that carries the research as it unfolds.

Vision

Navigating the site should feel closer to walking along the river. Water, debris, vegetation, and lifeforms move through four states: Source, Harm, Resurgence, and Confluence. Built with Next.js and Firebase, the site grows with the research from 2025 to 2029, a living ecosystem that stays with the project.
